Winnipeg, the capital of Manitoba, is regarded as the gateway to Eastern and Western Canada. Winnipeg is easily connected to other cities by air, road or rail. Winnipeg is blessed to be located close to numerous rivers and lakes like Canadian Shield rivers, Lake Winnipeg, Lake Woods and Lake Manitoba. The southern Manitoba is often known for its picturesque views and Winnipeg feels proud to be the largest city of the Prairies. It also boasts to feature the windiest corner on the continent, the street corners of Portage and Main.
Winnipeg which is known for it natural beauty is also rich in arts and culture. It has been known as "Slurpee Capital of the World," since 1999. The historic architecture, scenic waterways, numerous parks and the mural paintings on its building walls have made Winnipeg a great city to visit for the tourists. The main attractions of Winnipeg are its extensive parks which include Assiniboine Park, Kildonan Park and St. Vital Park and the Assiniboine Forest. Even other attractions like the Forks, the Red River Floodway, the Fort Garry Hotel, Confederation Building, the Exchange District, Fort Douglas and Lower Fort Garry are worth visiting in Winnipeg.
With so much of natural scenic views and numerous places of interest to visit, Winnipeg is worth visiting place.
